Problem

Ever since WhatsApp came into the market, people have preferred using it instead of sending SMS. Every person wants to chat within a blink of an eye, from schools to colleges to large enterprise companies.

Sometimes plain text isn’t just enough to grab the reader’s attention. Below are some real-world examples that we often face using plain text:

  1. How can a person highlight the brand name without bolding it?
  2. How do you recall your finished chores without striking through the text?
  3. How can a quote be differentiated from the rest of the content if it’s not italic?

For a better reading experience, we want our messages to be bold, italic, or even Monospaced.

Solution

According to the WhatsApp Help Center¹, we can format our messages in four ways.

1. Italic Text

To make the text italic, place it between two underscores (_); refer to the below snippet and demo.
